Hamilton: All is good with team after Singapore GP strategy criticism
Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton confirmed everything is fine with Mercedes, despite his recent criticism of their strategy during the Singapore Grand Prix, where he finished sixth.
Hamilton, 39, had qualified third but was frustrated when his team opted for soft tires at the start, while he preferred starting on medium tires.
“I battled as hard as I could to fight to go on the medium tire, but the team continued to suggest that I started on the soft … everyone was on medium,” Hamilton said later at an event.
Mercedes’ technical director, James Allison, admitted the error, stating it compromised Hamilton’s race. Hamilton, currently sixth in the championship with 174 points, trails behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who leads with 331 points.

Hamilton shared on social media that the decision to start on soft tires was a bold and risky strategy. It. It had the potential to give him an early advantage but ultimately didn’t work out.
“I know there has been a lot of chat around the last one and our strategy in Singapore, which just didn’t work. When that happens, it’s natural to be frustrated and easy for me to speak out in that frustration,” the Briton said on Instagram.
“Make no mistake though, things are cool with the team … we’re not afraid of those tricky conversations and challenging moments, which is why we have achieved so much together. We will support each other to the very end.”
Hamilton stated that he is concentrating on the upcoming race in Austin next month.
