Meta AI Expanded to More Countries
In an update to its July announcement about expanding Meta AI to new regions, the social media giant has rolled out its AI chatbot to six additional countries: Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the UK. The company has also added support for Tagalog, the official language of the Philippines.
Users in these countries can access the AI assistant by updating their Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp apps. After the update, they will see the new Meta AI icon, making it easy to get started with the chatbot.
Additionally, Meta announced plans to expand its chatbot to 15 more countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen. The rollout is expected to take place before the end of the year. Along with this expansion, Meta AI will be updated to support Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese languages.
In the UK and Australia, users will also receive Meta AI capabilities on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses as part of the current rollout. However, the AI assistant will only feature voice-based functionalities, meaning that the newly announced computer vision capabilities will not be available to users in these countries.

Threads May Soon Get a Cross-Posting Feature
Developer Alessandro Paluzzi (@alex193a) has reported that Threads is testing a new feature allowing users to share Instagram Reels and posts directly to the platform. According to a screenshot shared by Paluzzi, a new Instagram option has been added to the existing drop-down menu on Threads, which already includes options for GIFs, Voice, and Polls.
By tapping the new Instagram button in the compose box on Threads, users will see a grid of their Instagram posts and Reels, enabling them to select which content they want to share. Meta has reportedly confirmed to TechCrunch that this feature is currently in testing. Many users already share their Instagram content on Threads to increase engagement and grow their follower base, and the introduction of this new button is expected to further enhance user engagement and visibility for their posts.
Meta has been actively promoting cross-posting from Facebook and Instagram to Threads since last year. The platform already automatically displays Threads posts on Instagram and Facebook, and it is currently testing a feature that allows users to cross-post images from Instagram to Threads.
In addition to these efforts, Meta is continuously introducing new features to enhance the growing Threads platform. Recently, the company has been testing a temporary post feature that enables users to publish posts that disappear after a specified period.
